When I was much younger dating was so much easier than it is today. If a guy liked you, he would ask for your phone number. You wrote it on a simple piece of paper, you’d wait for the call and plan the date and went on a date just that simple. If it didn’t work out, he’d either say can we be friends, or you would mutually try to talk it out until things all fizzled out. 1999 seems so far from today’s dating mechanism. With the emerging rise of dating apps like bumble, and reality tv dating shows that have made dating seem hilarious instead of exciting, your left with wondering how can I handle dating?

After a failed marriage and breaking away from dating, I decided to jump back into the dating pool one to test the waters to see if I can handle what today’s dating game has to offer. So far, I feel like dating is like taking a trip to dentist or buying an uncomfortable bra but here I was minding my own business when this guy asks for my number while driving on the freeway. He almost crashed his car, so I took a chance and gave him my number. We ended up talking for weeks making plans to go on a date. On the day we were supposed to go out I got all dressed up in my gold dress and sandals to take a walk to the beach as he suggested we would do.
